The Marine Radio Operators VHF Certificate of Proficiency |
The MROVCP is the minimum mandatory qualification for anyone operating marine VHF radio equipment. |
If your boat has a marine VHF radio fitted then the Radio Regulations require that you hold a Marine Radio OperatorsVHF Certificate of Proficiency in order to operate the radio. |
The correct use of marine radio communication is vital during Distress, and Search and Rescue incidents to ensurethat information is passed efficiently and effectively. |
The best mode of communication in the coastal waters around Tasmania is via VHF radio. |
Marine and Safety Tasmania (MAST) have installed a network of VHF repeaters around the coast line of Tasmania. |
Knowledge of the channels and how to use the repeaters could be vital to your safety and that of other boat users. |
