Our Mission

  • To provide a professional emergency response and marine rescue service to the boating community
     in southern Tasmanian waters, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

  • To be highly trained.

  • To be always prepared in a “rescue ready” state.

  • To strive to have the best resources to effect marine rescue.

Aim

  • Our primary aim is to protect, save and preserve human life and property in Tasmanian coastal waters.

Objectives

  • To promote and encourage Best Practice in Volunteer Marine Rescue organisation, administration, and operation.

  • To co-operate with and assist Tasmania Police in the provision of marine search and rescue resources in southern
     Tasmanian coastal waters.

  • To promote Safety of Life at Sea through public education programmes.

  • To deliver excellence in training and education.

  • To promote the safe operation of small craft through Public Education Programmes,  weekend Safety Patrols, and Search and Rescue.
