The St Helens Marine Rescue Association is affiliated with the Tasmanian Squadron of the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard Association. |
St Helens Marine Rescue Radio Base operates 7 days a week between 0810 - 1710 hrs from Georges Bay Wharf. |
Radio watch is maintained on 27.88 MHz (Channel 88), VHF Ch 16, VHF Repeater Ch 82 (Mount Horror), and 2524 kHz. |
Weather forecasts and Radio Skeds are announced at 0810 hrs on Channel 88 and VHF Ch 16 and conducted on the appropriate working channel. |
Weather warnings are broadcast on receipt after an announcement on Channel 88 and VHF Ch 16. |
A Rescue Service is provided, both in Georges Bay and offshore using a StabiCraft. |
