The St Helens Marine Rescue Association is affiliated with the Tasmanian Squadron of the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard Association.

St Helens Marine Rescue Radio Base operates 7 days a week between 0810 - 1710 hrs from Georges Bay Wharf.

Radio watch is maintained on 27.88 MHz (Channel 88), VHF Ch 16, VHF Repeater Ch 82 (Mount Horror), and 2524 kHz.

Weather forecasts and Radio Skeds are announced at 0810 hrs on Channel 88 and VHF Ch 16 and conducted on the appropriate working channel.

Weather warnings are broadcast on receipt after an announcement on Channel 88 and VHF Ch 16.

A Rescue Service is provided, both in Georges Bay and offshore using a StabiCraft.
