The Tamar Sea Rescue Association is affiliated with the Tasmanian Squadron of the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard Association.

Tamar Sea Rescue Radio Base, operated by Bryn Warrick, (tel: 03 6382 1680) provides a 24 hour 7 day a week service from George Town on the Tamar River.

A continuous radio watch is maintained on 27.88 MHz (Channel 88), VHF Ch 16, VHF Repeater Channel 80 (Dazzler Range) and Channel 82 (Mount Horror).

The frequencies 2182, 4125, 6215 and 8291 kHz are also monitored using a scanning MF/HF transceiver.

Vessels calling Tamar Sea Rescue are requested to state the frequency or channel on which they are calling.

Radio Skeds for Position Reports are announced on Channel 88 and VHF Ch 16 and conducted on the appropriate
working channel at:-  0750, 1150, 1350, 1620 and 1850 hours.

Weather Forecasts are announced on Channel 88 and VHF Ch 16 and broadcast on the appropriate working channel
at:-  1133, and 1620 hours.

Weather warnings are broadcast on receipt after an announcement on Channel 88, VHF Ch 16, and 2524 kHz.

Radio Skeds for Position Reports are conducted on 2524 and 4483 kHz at 0820 and 1950 hours.
